The photo measures 12" x 36" in size and has been hand-signed by Muhammad Ali (D. 2016, HOF).
Ali's boxing career began at a young age, and he quickly rose through the ranks to achieve international recognition. He won a gold medal in the light heavyweight division at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome. Soon after, he turned professional and began his journey towards becoming a boxing legend.
Known for his incredible speed, agility, and unorthodox fighting style, Ali soon became famous for his witty trash-talking and charismatic personality, which he often used to promote his fights. He had a unique ability to "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee," making him a challenging opponent for any fighter.
One of Ali's most memorable moments came on February 25, 1964, when he faced Sonny Liston for the World Heavyweight Championship. Despite being considered an underdog, Ali won the fight and proclaimed, "I am the greatest!" From that point on, he became known by that self-proclaimed title, "The Greatest."
Ali's career faced a significant setback when he refused to be drafted into the military during the Vietnam War, citing religious reasons and opposition to the war. He was subsequently stripped of his boxing titles and banned from the sport for several years. However, in 1971, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned his conviction, allowing him to resume his boxing career.
In the 1970s, Ali engaged in several legendary fights, including the "Fight of the Century" against Joe Frazier and the "Rumble in the Jungle" against George Foreman. His most famous fight, however, was the "Thrilla in Manila" against Joe Frazier in 1975, which is considered one of the greatest boxing matches in history.
Throughout his career, Ali was a three-time World Heavyweight Champion and won a record of 56 fights, including 37 by knockout. He retired from professional boxing in 1981 with a remarkable legacy.
Outside the ring, Muhammad Ali was also an influential figure in social and political matters. He was an outspoken civil rights activist and a strong advocate for racial equality. His impact extended far beyond the sport of boxing, and he remains an inspiration to many people around the world. His famous quote, "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee," and his fighting spirit continue to be celebrated and remembered to this day.
