Alex Rodriguez began his MLB career with the Seattle Mariners after being selected first overall in the 1993 MLB Draft. Debuting in 1994 at just 18 years old, he quickly became one of the game's brightest young stars. His breakout season came in 1996 when he hit .358 with 36 home runs and 123 RBIs, finishing second in AL MVP voting. Rodriguez played a key role in the Mariners’ success during the late 1990s, forming a dynamic core with Ken Griffey Jr. and Edgar Martínez. However, he left Seattle after the 2000 season, signing a record-breaking $252 million contract with the Texas Rangers.
