Mark McGwire "Smashing the record" LE 23KT Gold Baseball Card. Card commemorates Mark McGwire's 62nd home run in 1998, beating the previous record set by Roger Maris of 61. He would later go on to hit 70 home runs that season. Please note card comes in original box. Please see photos for details regarding the card.

McGwire played in the MLB from 1986-2001 for the Oakland Athletics and the St. Louis Cardinals. For his career, McGwire averaged a home run once every 10.61 at bats, the best at bats per home run ratio in baseball history (Babe Ruth is second at 11.76). McGwire finished his career with 583 home runs.
