Hershel W. Williams Signed Medal of Honor Citation Postcard (PSA Encapsulated)

Postcard measures approximately 4" x 6" in size. Hand-signed in black ink pen by Hershel W. William (D. 2003).

Hershel Woodrow "Woody" Williams is a retired United States Marine who received the Medal of Honor for his actions in the Battle of Iwo Jima during World War II. He is the last surviving recipient of the Medal of Honor from that battle and the last surviving United States Marine to receive the Medal of Honor for heroism in World War II.

A portion of the sale of this auction will be donated to the General James. H Doolittle Scholarship Fund. The General James H. Doolittle Scholarship Fund was founded to assist college students by awarding one scholarship annually in the maximum amount of $5,000 to a deserving student who is pursuing a baccalaureate or advanced degree in aeronautical engineering or an aerospace science. Students are selected based on their scholastic achievement, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential and financial need.
