The stud switch-hitting outfielder, now with the St. Louis Cardinals, came to New York with high expectations and has delivered several consistent seasons despite battling injuries. Voted the AL Rookie of the Year in 1999 while playing for Kansas City Beltran is a 5-Time All-Star and a 3-Time Gold Glove Award winner. Together with David Wright, Jose Reyes, and young star Ike Davis, Beltran helped form a solid core group of players looking to take the Mets back to the playoffs.
