Very rare authentic ancient coin (AD 59-62). The coin has been authenticated and encapsulated by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation). This coin is referenced in the Bible which is also noted by NGC (Acts 25-26)
Porcius Festus was the Roman Procurator of Judaea from 59 to 62 AD. During his administration Jewish hostility to Rome was greatly inflamed due to the Jewish civic rights issue. Feelings were aroused which played an important part in the closely following Jewish War of 66 AD. The coin
of Porcius Festus was struck in the time of Emperor Nero, once again depicts a palm branch, symbolize the Land of Israel, and has an inscription relating to Nero, within a wreath.
