Rickey is best known for being an executive for the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1947 Rickey broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball by bringing Jackie Robinson to the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field. He is also the father of the farm system, which he established for the St. Louis Cardinals then later for the Brooklyn Dodgers. This idea was eventually copied by all teams in Major League Baseball. Branch Rickey would later be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1967.
