Measuring approximately 2 to 4 mm and weighing about .04 to .042 grams, India Gold Fanams are the worlds smallest circulating gold coins. Gold Fanams were minted in high grade gold by several southern Indian states. These coins were struck between the 11th and 12th centuries, these coins use a stylized line and dot design to form abstract deities, animals or other art.
