Robert Addison Signed "Spring" 1977 22x30 PP Serigraph (PA LOA)

This rare serigraph measures 22" x 30" in size. Hand-signed by artist, Robert Addison and hand-numbered PP (Printer's Proof). Serigraph includes a Pristine Auction LOA for authenticity purposes.

From the edition size of 250. This piece was  signed and given to the printer of record Chicago Serigraphic Workshop. They  came directly from the estate of the printer.

Robert Addison worked at Ficho & Corley art studio in the John Hancock Building (where he also lived) in the 1970's and 1980's. Although he was well-known for his nostalgic paintings of serene neighborhoods, along with his carousel series, he also provided art for the advertising world. Addison was a master at lighting, creating dramatic shadows in his work. He always said he was best at landscapes, but he provided beautiful portraits of famous Chicagoans for a "celebrity" wall for a Wendy's opening in the Chicago loop in the early 1980's.

Robert Addison Art was sold at the 8 prestigious Merrill Chase Galleries in Chicago, IL.

He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. He was the best friend of famed sports artist Leroy Neiman.

 

Serigraphs

In addition to his impressive catalogue of original paintings, Robert Addison, in concert with Merrill Chase Galleries, issued a total of 56 serigraphs (most of which are presented here) between 1969 and 1988. Mr. Addison was intimately involved in every step of the serigraph process and the results were masterpeices of fine art printmaking.
