Orville Wright Signed Letter & Postcard Custom Framed Display (PSA LOA)

Orville Wright, along with his brother Wilbur, launched into both history books and legend with the first ever manned powered flight. Orville was the more mischievous, impulsive of the two brothers, but also the shyest. The Wright brothers made the first manned, powered, controlled heavier-than-air flight, in 1903. Orville also served on the board of NACA (National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics) for twenty-eight years. NASA was created from NACA in 1958. Wright State University is named after the brothers, and the Wright legacy is honored by a Wright Brothers National Memorial in Manteo, North Carolina. 

Presented here within this custom display is a typed letter, one page, 8.5” x 11”, drafted on The Wright Company letterhead, May 16, 1916. Orville politely declines an invitation to dinner due to the beginning of a patent trial. In part, 'I am sorry that on account of a patent trial beginning on that date, at which I have to be present, I cannot accept your invitation. I am very sorry that up to this time I have not been able to accept any of your invitations. It would give me great pleasure to meet you again.' The letter is handsomely signed in full, “Orville Wright,” at the conclusion in black ink. Attractively matted along with a commemorative postal cover and various images honoring the Wright Brothers and their historic first flight. Housed in a tasteful rosewood lacquered frame display and ready for immediate display!
