In 1972-73 Robert Chase proposed the concept to Dali of picturing himself as the 20th century Leonardo da Vinci, giving the world what he imagined the future would hold. Knowing that Dali admired da Vinci greatly as a thinker and a creative genius, still, was not adequate preparation for his reaction. Dali rolled his eyes as indication of an extraordinary epiphany, and (please imagine an outrageous French-Catalan accent) he loudly exclaimed, "Fantastique! Bravo! Dal-i create the fu-ture.

Dali described his future vision of Liquid Tornado Bathtub;

Fantastic! If you want to bathe you pick up your radio phone(cell phone)  call for your captain. Momentarily, it will appear in the sky a special helicopter(drone) that created a vortex. At your will, there is released from the helicopter of miniature waterspout which we can pilot where we wish, the waterspout to comes down and cleanses your body. It contains special cleansing substances so that way bathe without a bathtub, the receptacle and no other device. All fresh and clean. Helicopter goes away and we go out to dinner.

The etching on the lower right of the art is of a man being showered and there is a special inscription that Dali etched into the etching plate in French.

Collage of a futuristic laptop computer(1974, there were no laptops) which a man uses in his bathtub.
