The note shown here is a reprint of a Gold Certificate, a $100,000 Gold Certificate to be exact. This officially licensed replica was authorized by the Smithsonian to be reprinted in 2017 and is now available to you. This is the highest denomination note to ever be issued by the U.S. While notes like this one were legal to use in everyday transactions, bills this large were typically only used for transfers between banks.
