Photo in folder measures 8.5" x 10.5" and features a photo of Marilyn Monroe (D. 1962) from the Edward Weston Collection. This is an original 1992 photograph from an original 1945 negative.

Black and white original negative photograph from the Edward Weston Collection by the Esquire, Vogue and Life magazine photographer Andre de Dienes. It was he who gave the young Norma Jeane her first modelling job in 1945, when she was aged 19. A five-week road trip photographing her across California, Nevada, and New Mexico resulted in a love affair and numerous magazine covers around the world. Their working relationship continued until 1953 and his images are considered to be among the best studies ever taken of her. Stamped and dated authentication on the back and embossed Weston seal on the lower right.

The Edward Weston Collection is one of the world's premiere archives of classic Hollywood glamour photography.  This famed art publisher built his holdings over five decades through his personal and business relationships with George Hurrell, Lazlo Willinger, Jeannie Bull (Clarence Sinclair Bull's widow), John Kobal, Milton Greene, Ted Allan, George Barris, Bert Stern and many others.

Edward Weston pioneered the emergence of Hollywood glamour photography into the fine art market over 50 years ago while exhibiting these works throughout the United States and Europe.  Featuring his Marilyn Monroe Collection, the collection traveled throughout the United States titled "From Harlow to Monroe".

Mr. Weston collaborated with John Kobal (now the John Kobal Foundation in London, England) publishing photographs of Greta Garbo taken from the original camera negatives by Clarence Sinclair (C.S.) Bull, who is considered one of the most important photographers of his time.
