1997 $100 Franklin Quarter-Pound Silver Proof Bullion

Bullion is (4) troy ounces of silver and has been die struck by The Washington Mint to the highest proof of quality. This limited striking has been conducted by The Washington Mint in full accordance with established guidelines and practices. Quarter-pound silver proof features an exert adaptation of the $100 Franklin Federal Reserve Note that was first introduced in 1996. It features the same portrait of Benjamin Franklin that has appeared on the $100 Federal Reserve Notes since 1928, but it is larger and shifted to the left of center. It is the first new $100 Design since 1928.
