This limited striking has been conducted by The Washington Mint in full accordance with established guidelines and practices. Quarter-pound silver proof features an exert adaptation of the $100 Franklin Federal Reserve Note that was first introduced in 1996. It features the same portrait of Benjamin Franklin that has appeared on the $100 Federal Reserve Notes since 1928, but it is larger and shifted to the left of center. It is the first new $100 Design since 1928.
