2015 American Eagle 1 Oz. Fine Silver 24k Gold Gilded Coin

American Silver Eagle Coins are the official silver coin of the United States Government. The coins were first introduced in 1986, the same year as its counterpart the Gold American Eagle was first struck. The design on these coins remains consistent from one year to the next, making these 2015 American Silver Eagles an exciting deviation from the usual minting.

Each American Eagle Silver coin features an updated interpretation of Lady Liberty from the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. In the image, she can be seen walking beside a sea with the sun rising over the horizon. On these 2015 gilded coins, Lady Liberty, the ground she walks on, and the sun are all gilded with 24K gold. The introduction of the gold creates a brilliant contrast between the primary image and the silver background field. John Mercanti’s image of the eagle on the reverse of the coin has not been altered.
