P-51B Mustang 1:72 Scale Model Plane comes with a matching COA card that has been hand-signed in blue felt-tip pen by Bill Overstreet (D 2013). Please note, the model plane is not signed, and comes in its original packaging. Set is limited edition and has been numbered #1526/2000. Autograph on card is slightly smudged, please see photos for details.

William Bruce "Bill" Overstreet Jr. was an American fighter pilot and a veteran of the 357th Fighter Group, 363rd Fighter Squadron of the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. He is best known for his solo pursuit of a German Messerschmitt Bf 109G underneath the arches of the Eiffel Tower in 1944. In 2009, Overstreet was awarded the Legion of Honour by the French Ambassador to the United States Pierre Vimont at a ceremony held at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia.

A portion of the sale of this auction will be donated to the General James. H Doolittle Scholarship Fund. The General James H. Doolittle Scholarship Fund was founded to assist college students by awarding one scholarship annually in the maximum amount of $5,000 to a deserving student who is pursuing a baccalaureate or advanced degree in aeronautical engineering or an aerospace science. Students are selected based on their scholastic achievement, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential and financial need.
