Although he was one of the brightest young stars in the league early in his career, Joe Sakic couldn't quite get the Nordiques over the hump as they missed the playoffs in five of his first seven NHL seasons despite his outstanding play and leadership. The franchise move to Denver in 1995 figured to provide a spark to Sakic and the organization as a whole. However, nobody could have predicted the immediate success of the Colorado Avalanche. Sakic carried the Avs to the franchise's first Stanley Cup championship as he scored 120 points on his way to top-10 finishes in both the Lady Byng and Hart Memorial Trophy voting. He earned the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs that season. He scored six game-winning goals, a new NHL record, with 34 points overall in the playoff run. This 25"x17" limited edition (25) framed shadow box features a specially designed image of Sakic in an Avalanche jersey following through after a patented wrist shot with a snow-capped image of the Rocky Mountains in the distance, all set behind an autographed acrylic stick blade signed in gold paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated's Five Step Process.

The lot / autograph(s) includes an official Upper Deck Authenticated (UDA) hologram and matching COA for authenticity purposes.
