The 2001 NBA Finals was the championship series of the 2000-2001 as well has his All Star NBA season. It featured the Eastern Conference champion Philadelphia 76ers and the Western Conference champion Los Angeles Lakers. The series took place from June 6 to June 15, 2001.

The Philadelphia 76ers were led by their star player, Allen Iverson, who had an incredible season and was named the league's Most Valuable Player (MVP). The team was coached by Larry Brown, who was known for his defensive-oriented approach to the game.

The Los Angeles Lakers were a powerhouse team, featuring a star-studded roster that included Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, and several other talented players. They were coached by Phil Jackson, who had won multiple championships with the Chicago Bulls during the 1990s.

The Lakers dominated the series, winning the first two games in Los Angeles. However, the 76ers fought back in Game 3, securing a victory in Philadelphia. The most memorable moment of the series came in Game 1 when Allen Iverson scored 48 points, including his famous "Step over" move on Tyronn Lue after hitting a jump shot.

Despite Iverson's brilliance, the Lakers' overall talent and experience were too much for the 76ers to overcome. Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant were unstoppable, and the Lakers ultimately won the series in five games, securing their second consecutive NBA championship.

Shaquille O'Neal was named the NBA Finals MVP, averaging 33 points and 15.8 rebounds per game during the series.

The 2001 NBA Finals solidified the Lakers' status as a dominant team of that era, and it marked the second of three consecutive championships for the Lakers from 2000 to 2002. For the 76ers, the Finals appearance was a testament to Allen Iverson's incredible talent, but they fell short against the powerhouse Lakers.
