1974-75 Famous First Edition #61 DC Comics comic book. Hand-signed on the cover by Jerry Siegel (D. 1996) and Joe Shuster (D. 1992). The item is Limited Edition.
Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster were the co-creators of one of the most iconic and enduring superheroes in comic book history, Superman. They were both born in the early 20th century and met while attending high school in Cleveland, Ohio.
In 1933, Jerry Siegel, the writer, and Joe Shuster, the artist, created the character of Superman, inspired by the science fiction and pulp heroes of their time. Superman made his first appearance in "Action Comics" #1, published by DC Comics, in June 1938. The character's origin story depicted him as Kal-El, an alien from the planet Krypton sent to Earth as a baby and raised as Clark Kent in Smallville, Kansas. As he grew older, he discovered his superhuman powers, and Clark Kent became Superman, dedicated to fighting for truth, justice, and the American way.
Superman's debut was an instant success, and he quickly became a cultural phenomenon. His popularity soared, and he became the archetype for all future superheroes, setting the standard for the genre.
