Super Bowl XIX was the 19th edition of the Super Bowl, the championship game of the National Football League (NFL), and took place on January 20, 1985. The game was held at Stanford Stadium in Stanford, California, which is the home stadium of the Stanford Cardinal college football team.

In Super Bowl XIX, the San Francisco 49ers faced off against the Miami Dolphins. The 49ers were led by their Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana, while the Dolphins were led by their Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino.

The 49ers dominated the game, and behind a stellar performance from Joe Montana, they secured a convincing victory with a score of 38-16. Montana was named the game's Most Valuable Player (MVP) after throwing for 331 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 59 yards and another touchdown.

Super Bowl XIX was notable for being the first Super Bowl held in the state of California and for featuring two high-powered offenses led by legendary quarterbacks. The 49ers' victory marked their second Super Bowl win in franchise history.
