Official National League baseball has been hand-signed and inscribed by (11) members of the inaugural 1962 New York Mets baseball team. Signers include Casey Stengel, Rogers Hornsby, Gil Hodges, Ray Daviault, Roger Craig, Gus Bell, Hobie Landrith, Richie Ashburn, Rod Kanehl, Don Zimmer, and Clem Labine.

Casey Stengel inscribed the date "April 27, 1962" leading to the assumption that the baseball was game used on that date; however that is not supported with any official documentation. The back of the ball has "NY Mets" written in an unknown hand.
