Vintage letter measures 8.5" x 11" in size and features the personal hand-writing and signature of Charles Manson. Manson had personally written on both sides of the letter and included his signature on both sides as well. Included with the letter is a photo of Manson being detained. Details on the letter are mentioned below.
On one side of the sheet, Manson wrote:
"I can't have my stuff because I may sell it or destroy it an give it away. I can't have it because its worth to much because it's mine and I may try to.... Big brains think up all kinds of stuff like that and it would take 6 mo's to explain it from soap to trash etc. Regards to brother"
On the other side of the sheet, Manson wrote extensively but it is hard to read due to the color of the ink used and the logo on the sheet.
Charles Manson (1934-2017) was an American criminal and cult leader who became infamous in the late 1960s for orchestrating a series of brutal murders through his followers, known as the "Manson Family." Manson preached a distorted interpretation of countercultural ideas, blending them with apocalyptic visions and racist beliefs. His most notorious crime was the murder of actress Sharon Tate and several others in Los Angeles in 1969, an event that shocked the nation. Manson's influence over his followers, whom he manipulated into committing the murders, made him a symbol of the dark side of the 1960s counterculture. He was convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in 1971 and spent the rest of his life in prison, where he became a symbol of criminal madness in American culture.
