Mickey Mantle was one of the greatest baseball players in Major League Baseball (MLB) history, known for his incredible power-hitting and versatility on the field. Born on October 20, 1931, in Spavinaw, Oklahoma, Mantle spent his entire 18-year career with the New York Yankees, from 1951 to 1968. He played primarily as a center fielder and first baseman.

Mantle was a switch-hitter, equally effective from both sides of the plate, and was renowned for his speed and strength. He hit 536 home runs during his career, many of which were legendary for their distance. Mantle won three American League MVP awards and was selected to 20 All-Star Games. He played in 12 World Series, winning seven, and remains a symbol of the Yankees' dominance during the 1950s and 1960s. Despite battling numerous injuries, Mantle's legacy endures as one of baseball's all-time greats.
