Myron Waldman (1908-2006)
As animator of more Betty Boop cartoons than any other artist, Myron Waldman has brought countless hours of humor to people in a career that spans almost seven decades. At the age of 94, Mr. Waldman is still actively working and producing great artwork.
During his career, Mr. Waldman served as Head Animator and Director at studios such as Max Fleischer Studios and Paramount's Famous Studios. While at Fleischer and Famous Studios, he animated 40 cartoons within a 17 year time period and is credited on over 100 films during his career. He was instrumental in the creation and animation of films featuring Betty Boop, Popeye, Casper, Raggedy Ann and Andy, and the original Superman film series. He created Betty Boop's ever popular and loveable little dog Pudgy, and the mother and son donkeys? Hunky and Spunky. Hunky and Spunky, along with Educational Fish (another film Mr. Waldman animated), were two of the four Fleischer cartoons nominated for Academy Awards.
The piece includes an LOA and lifetime authenticity guarantee from Pristine Auction.
