He rose to fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a founding member of Guns N' Roses, which also included Axl Rose (vocals), Duff McKagan (bass), Izzy Stradlin (rhythm guitar), and Steven Adler (drums). The band achieved massive success with their debut album, "Appetite for Destruction" (1987), which remains one of the best-selling albums of all time. The album featured hits like "Sweet Child o' Mine," "Welcome to the Jungle," and "Paradise City."

Slash's guitar playing style is characterized by his exceptional technique, bluesy riffs, and memorable solos. His top hat, long curly hair, and sunglasses have become iconic symbols of rock 'n' roll.

In 1996, Slash left Guns N' Roses and pursued a solo career. Apart from his solo work and Guns N' Roses, Slash has also been involved in other musical projects, such as Velvet Revolver, which included members of Stone Temple Pilots, and he has released albums with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators.
