The fight between Muhammad Ali and Floyd Patterson on November 22, 1965, at the Las Vegas Convention Center was a clash of styles, personalities, and eras. Billed as a showdown between the brash, outspoken Ali and the humble former champion Patterson, the bout carried personal animosity. Patterson, who had criticized Ali's association with the Nation of Islam and refused to call him by his new name (insisting on "Cassius Clay"), became a target for Ali's psychological warfare. In the ring, Ali’s superior speed, agility, and unorthodox style were on full display. He toyed with Patterson, drawing out the punishment while taunting him, eventually winning by technical knockout in the 12th round. The fight is remembered not only for Ali's dominance but also for the social and cultural tensions it symbolized, reflecting the broader civil rights struggles of the 1960s.
The autograph(s) includes an official PSA/DNA hologram for authenticity purposes.
